Discovery of 43 fossilised dinosaur eggs was made by builders carrying out road repairs in Guangdong province

Dozens of fossilised dinosaur eggs have been discovered by builders carrying out road works in a Chinese city known as “the hometown of the dinosaur”.

The 43 eggs were dug up earlier this month by construction workers in the city of Heyuan in Guangdong province.

Du Yanli, a local archeologist, told Chinese media that 19 of the eggs had been found intact while the largest had a diameter of 13cm.

Heyuan, which has a population of around 3.3 million, is ground zero for dinosaur-related discoveries in China.
