Scientists discover how to ‘switch off hunger’

Scientists discover how to ‘switch off hunger’
Scientists discover how to stop the sensation of hunger

People have long wondered how to harness their appetites and reduce the amount they eat (insecure teenagers – this does not apply to you).

Now scientists at Harvard have identified the neural network in the brain which controls hunger.

They have even managed to stimulate the networks in mice brains, making them feel full when they haven’t eaten.

The team now believe that activating the melanoncortin 4 receptor-regulated (MC4R) circuit in the brains could help people diet without having to experience the uncomfortable sensation of dieting.
