Life hacks have been around longer than you and I have been alive. In fact, if we go back 100 years we’d probably be able to find life hacks from yesteryears in the cards that are included in packs of cigarettes.
Yep, before the days of Google, smartphones, and bald Russian guys telling us how to take off our shirts in two seconds, cigarette manufacturers have provided our great-great granddads and grandmoms with clever solutions to everyday problems.
According to Mental Floss, Gallaher Cigarettes printed a series of clever “How-To” cards in 1910 to help with everyday and emergency situations. But really they were just placed there to strengthen the containers that hold the cigarette packs.
Surprisingly, some of these hacks will probably still work today. Of course, I’d first have to figure out what a sal-ammoniac is and where I can find one.
